Phospho-Jen AS – etching gel containing 37% of orthophosphoric acid. Does not contain silicon dioxide, has a strong thixotropic effect. Features: - Contains 37% phosphoric acid. - Blue color gel simplifies application control. - Contains antiseptic and surface active agent cetrimonium bromide. - The optimal level of viscosity in the new silicon-free formulation facilitates precision placement and superior control. Phospho-Jen AS is just viscous enough to prevent migration on a vertical surface. - However it can penetrate into the smallest fissures of occlusal surfaces due to physical and chemical properties which promote capillary action. - The optimum viscosity maintains a thick enough layer to prevent premature drying. - The ideal viscosity allows placement of etch in any desired location. Apply etching gel onto the enamel and dentin, being sure to cover the bevels and keeping the acid from dentin. Leave the etching gel in place for 15 seconds. Rinse for 20 seconds with water. Dry with oil-and water-free air. The etched enamel should have a chalky white appearance.
